Leader offers condolences over demise of Saffarzadeh

TEHRAN -- Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has offered his condolences over the demise of Tahereh Saffarzadeh, a female scholar, poet, and translator who died of cancer at Tehran’s Iranmehr Hospital on Saturday morning.

In his message the Leader stated: “I offer my condolences on the demise of the prominent female scholar, Quran translator, and the creative poet and writer Dr. Tahereh Saffarzadeh, to her respected family, relatives, and the poetry and literature society of the country. May her services to the Quran be accepted by the Almighty, and God have mercy on her soul.”
Saffarzadeh was translating the Nahj-ul-Balagha of Imam Ali (AS) into Persian and English.
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Mohammad-Hossein Saffar Harandi, Minister of Science Mohammad Mehdi Zahedi, and director of the Iranian Academy of Persian Language and Literature Gholam-Ali Haddad-Adel also issued condolence messages.
